Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As with many of our families, breast cancer has touched my life through family and friends who have battle this disease. There have been such strides in our medical community in battling breast cancer, giving the women and men who receive this life changing diagnosis a strong chance of beating it.

I developed at a young age. By 3rd grade, I needed a training bra. By 5th grade, I had my first period. I was interested in boys earlier than my friends. I was also picked on at an early age. I was still small and athletic in 2nd grade, but in 3rd grade, my hormones kicked in. I gained weight, I got taller, and worse, I got boobs. Small, but there.
